I managed to make my phone last long enough to see the result of the UGA game (though I had to turn it off for stretches and could only follow it via game updates). Was at 1% when it went final.

First off... congrats to Bama. You came out and punched us in the face worse that I thought any team could. That WR is elite... something you've missed the last two seasons but you have again now.

Overall, this game showed me just how much things have changed in CFB with the 12 team playoff. About 30 minutes after the game, I was feeling optimistic again instead of needing a few weeks to get over a loss like this.

I feel pretty optimistic going forward. While UGA lost, I feel like we have a lot of room to grow and correct mistakes. The opening of that game was about as bad as it could get. Then we got a safety and were -3 in turnover margin... and it was still a 1 score game. If we end up playing Bama again it's not like I don't think we can win. To be honest I'll likely have about the same level of confidence I had coming into this game. UGA can play better.

Due to making the game close, UGA has one more mulligan this season (we might not have if Bama had won 42-0 like it looked like they would for a while). They just have to fix the slow starting issue and do better with turnovers. If that happens, UGA can easily still win the national title. I doubt anyone wants to see a 10-2 UGA as a 7 or 8 seed in the playoff in the early rounds.

So TLDR... sucks that we lost, but I'm still feeling good about the NC chances. Very different from before the 12 team playoff.

You should've left your phone off.

Glad you're alive and have power.

I'll say this...

The second half of that game, y'all played with a greater sense of urgency than I think I've ever seen Georgia play with on offense for my entire life.

If that becomes a trend, that... is worrying.

No fair!

That money that was spent to fix power in South Carolina should have gone to the Ukraine money laundering machine!

Bama and Georgia will probably play again this season. It will be another street fight. And Bama better be prepared for 4 quarters next time. Getting a 28 point lead is rare.

I was in a hotel in Greenville, SC when it blew through; no power.
I’m glad to hear yours has finally been restored.
It’s been a wild year for tropical systems; the damage across the SE is nothing short of devastating.
Take care of each other.

Glad you are well. The game could have gone either way. We were fortunate to win.

another example of a Democrat who loves war, as always, since FDR, and then participating in killing Kennedy over pulling troops to put Lyndon fricking Johnson in power
