At Bama
At night
We have concerns with OL and DL
Beck is playing “tight”
Running game still not up to par
Milroe is a year older
Bama players were still brought up under Saban system

Past history with Bama aside (as it’s irrelevant) there’s a lot stacking up against us. Help me out here…show me the bright side….i need it.

I would rather lose this game than win and then lose in the playoffs...this will be rationalization if we lose.

I think it will be close and we will have a better game plan for milroe.

Hip swivel made a good point the other day that they have had to replace basically all of their secondary this year. Though our weapons have downgraded too

They haven't faced a good QB yet. I think if Beck and Bobo are on same page we can exploit them in the backend. Also no Dallas Turner or Braswell, tho Bama obviously reloads so I'm sure who they have now is talented.

Oline probably getting their manhood tested all bye week. Maybe they come out with chip on shoulder.

We are due for a few bounces to go out way too.

Now imagine how Bama fans felt before playing us in the SECCG last season after needing 4th & 31 against a shitty Auburn team.

We will be the hungrier team and the team with more than prove, like Alabama was last season. And the fact that we have the best coach in the country and the best players in the country doesn't hurt either.

Alabama hasn't played that well, but they haven't needed to play very well so far. Even the Wisconsin win is an unknown because their other games were unimpressive performances against Western Michigan (who got pummeled by Ohio State) and FCS South Dakota. We do need to get our DL depth back this week or it'll be a rough road outing IMO.

That's true, but this is a very different group from last year. The Alabama defense returned 36% of their defensive tackles from 2023, 22% of their sacks, 17% of their interceptions, and 29% of their pass breakups. On offense they return 28% of receptions, 29% of receiving yards, and 21% of tailback rushing yards. Still plenty of talent obviously, but that's a lot of turnover.

Looking forward to see if Beck has "it," or if he's just a game manager.

We'll learn a lot about him and the rest of the team very soon.

Without Saban on the other sideline we will always have a chance against bama from here in out. It's still bama and they will always have talent but Saban imo was the reason for their success. With him gone , it's time for Kirby to ascend.

I see this term "game manager" a lot and I'm not sure what it means because nobody ever defines it. I think Beck is a very good quarterback and he has a very good season under his belt already. He may not have a statistically better season than 2023 because of harder schedule and possibly less talented pass catchers.

Players can have an off week and a bad game, and I think coaches can too. I expect super-charged Bobo with 2 weeks to prepare.

But we still have to get off to better starts. Bobo came out in the third quarter of all 3 games so far calling genius plays that the defense never saw coming. Need some of those in the first quarter because we are the best front runner team in America, however.

The bad man isn’t there to hurt us any more.

Miami handling USF tells me Bama has problems like we do.

I wish I could be more encouraging but I think Kirby has all but summed it up in a nutshell: we don't have the quality depth that we once did.
I think Bama has better skilled players at most positions other than at DB.
I think their DL is better than our OL.
I think their OL is better than our DL.
In other words I think Bama will control the game in the trenches for the most part.
As such, I think we will need an innovative offensive game plan that can give Beck time to throw and exploit their defensive backfield.
On defense, we must contain Milroe and confuse him with a variety of defensive sets.
Our defensive backfield is our strength so we need to shut down their running game and force Milroe to throw into tight coverage and hope we don't get burned too often.
On offense, we need to spread them out and create a lot of runs and passes outside. Then when they compensate to cover outside runs and short passes, try an occasional run up the middle to keep them honest.
They will expect us to try and establish a running game. We should pass on first down often with short passes to avoid having to pass on 3rd and long.
We should roll Beck out often with the TE's blocking and then slough off their blocks to become receivers. Our TE's must play better for us to win this game. Beck needs to be precisely accurate for us to win this game.

Translation: we need to execute a smart game-plan with near flawless precision on both sides of the ball.

You guys are too sensitive. I’d never said that we don’t have a chance…just laying out some reasons that I don’t like this set up.

UGA needs to win this game. If not, the narrative of not being able to beat Bama just drones on.

It’s simple, practice, prepare, and play! Line up and beat the guy on the other side of the ball over and over and make him quit! Jalen Milroe said earlier this week that’s what they did to UGA last year in the SECCG. Beat them up physically and mentally and he said he could see it in UGA players eyes, they didn’t want anymore, they’d had enough!

What does this year look like? I think a mid teens to mid 20’s game that’s gonna come down to the late 3rd early 4th quarter!

Feels like he is attempting to keep his draft stock up instead of just playing

Guaranteed first play swing pass behind the line of scrimmage to Arian Smith for 2 yards because the TE can’t block
