Jury is still out on whether being so candid is a good thing or a bad thing, but I like watching Hugh’s press conferences. He is so thorough and explains things without any coachspeak.
I guess I’m scarred from years of “we had a good week of practice”.
Maybe he’s giving away too much for others to see or maybe he knows it’s inconsequential because the competition already know all the stuff he says, but it sure makes for an interesting listen.

I feel like you really gotta know your football terminology while listening to him, and that's a good thing

Refreshing for sure but it’s time to start taking full responsibility instead of pointing at the roster. We know the roster is not upper half of the conference but we shouldn’t be losing to fricking NMST or Cal.

The team roster sucks minus the freshmen and incoming class… we are what we are based on Malzhan and potato head … our transfers have been sunbelt quality… this isn’t hard

Unless you have a Leach/Spurrier type personality, I prefer Coach speak.

I loved this quote.....
"Ive been questioned about knowing what I know, but I certainly know what I dont know".
Thats very candid and funny.

I miss Mike Leach, he would have been solid gold on game day when his coaching days were done.
