Pretty good look into the problems against Kentucky.
Seems like most of it is due to some really poor blocking by the offensive line and tight ends.
This guy is not a fan of Truss.

Yeah… the O-Line got owned by UK. Gotta be much better against Bama or we might not be so fortunate.

I just watched 15 minutes so far and Truss and Stanford TE transfer should be ashamed of their play

Excellent detailed analysis.
I think he could improve his analysis by drawing on his frozen images to emphasize what he's talking about at each stage of the image sequence.
Bottom line: Our OL and TEs didn't block well and don't look very athletic.
I hope this can be corrected in preparation for Bama but it looks more like an issue with the Jimmy's and the Joe's than the X's and the O's.
Regarding his point about Beck not pulling on those option runs: Beck is not a dual-threat QB and his instinct/default inclination is going to be to give the ball to the RB regardless of how the play develops. He's counting on run blocking by the OL and the TE's and that didn't happen effectively on way too many plays.
And while Beck is definitely a better passer than was Stetson Bennett, I think our offense (really any offense in college football) is better with a dual-threat QB.

Beck can't handle pressure

Yep, the OL play is the biggest issue for this team followed by all the penalties. Very concerned with this position and I have no idea what they're going to do. Is it footwork, is it a lack of toughness? I can't say. But, they looked really bad all night long. One bye week may not be enough time to make the needed fix.

The TD drive was when they pulled Greene and put in Freeling.

Regardless,it's his job to make the read on DE crashing
and he didn't do it.No point in running the zone read if isn't gonna read the defense.
Lots of work to do with our OT's and perimeter blocking between now and Bama.

If he's not going to pull and run occasionally then there is no point in running a zone read that leaves the backside defender unblocked.
Carson isn't a duel threat but you don't have to be to get good yardage on that play when it transpires like that. If he keeps it there on that play and gets significant yardage, that defender is less likely to crash down towards the RB the next time they run zone. It was a poor decision by Beck
And I'm glad this video highlighted his risk aversion. Beck needs to trust himself. He has the arm talent to make tight window throws.

I agree. Just saying that because Beck isn't a dual-threat QB, his default action is going to give the ball to the RB.
But yea, I also agree that if Beck isn't going to do his job on that play, then maybe we shouldn't be calling zone reads when he is the QB.

I take exception to the better passer thing, maybe he throws a better looking ball with more armstrength, but I will take Stets touch on the long balls and scramble throws over Becks.
Beck is over coached and trying to throw perfect balls that hit receivers in stride but he is missing a ton of open guys when all he had to do is put a little more air under it so the receiver could adjust.
Beck has had some bad misses in the last two games.

He can't handle pressure. At all. How many drops did he have last game

He handles pressure well. What I don’t think handled well were UK’s disguised coverages. He looked confused several times when dropped back. Like what he saw pre-snap did not match what he saw post snap.

The strangest thing of all with Beck is a swear he gets more passes tipped or batted than our undersized Bennett ever did.....

I miss Stetson Bennett!

There is a difference between pressure situations and being pressured by the defense

I noticed about 3 times if Beck would have pulled the ball, he would have been untouched for 10+ yards

I figured Freeling would be in over Truss by now, but he has had to play some LT because Greene isn’t playing up to the standard either.

Keep on mind that can be called an option, hard give or hard keep. Hard to say if it is Beck not seeing it or running the play called.
