QB Room

This is first time, in a long time, that I feel pretty confident in our QB room.
No one dimensional QB that comes on 3rd and 4 to run a fake jet sweep and run to the sidelines for a 3 yard loss.
No QB buried on the depth chart that people on social media are saying “Oh he’d be the starter but the boosters won’t allow it.” As if a coach wouldn’t start the best QB. That’s how dumb Facebook Auburn fans can be.
I feel each guy in that room could step up, if needed and be serviceable. Essentially with the talent at WR

I’m a lot higher on Thorne than most. I think now that he has receivers he can count on I think he’ll look downright great at times. I am confident in Hank to come in and be a caretaker if needed.
Hope the o-line keeps whoever’s back there protected.

Thorne actually has reliable targets, OL is improved, run game should remain reliable, etc. He also got a ton of practice using his legs last season and I liked that 50 yard run out of him.
Hank looked solid. We didn't look out of sync until 3rd and 4th stringers got in. Grain of salt though because....Alabama A&M sooo.

Did we throw any slants or intermediate routes at all yesterday? Felt like just deep bombs or runs.

It can get annoying when Freeze harps on "not making the right read". Thorne missed a couple of open receivers, thats like saying he scored 98 on a test and you bitch about it.
He also checked INTO some awesome plays. That Malcolm Simmons TD was all Thorne, he read the single coverage and went there.
His QB rating was 95.1, that is fantastic.

Not to mention he is probably the best with his legs in the room from what we have seen. Him being able to keep defenses honest by keeping it every now and then in the RPO is big for being able to execute the offense.
I think we will be able to keep defenses from taking one thing away and trying to beat them with half the offense. Last year people could take the pass away quickly and focus solely on the run game for the majority of the game. I don't see that happening a whole lot this year unless the OL is just way overrated due to bad competition so far. Gonna be a fun season.
