Seeing as how both are SEC HC and both are considered offensive guru's I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on which coach you preferred while on your staff and why?

Sark will be the answer. Kiffin basically got fired before a national title game. That's hard to forget about.

Kiffin changed our entire philosophy, which we owe a lot of gratitude for, but Sark is the best play caller we’ve ever had.

If given the choice of having either back as OC, I think most of us would choose Sark.

ETA: Sark is a much better recruiter, too.

This is a really good question.

I think Kiffin has the most fun offense, but I think Sark has a more consistent offense.

This is just my opinion of them as an OC… as HC they are in completely different situations with the teams they are leading.

Kiffen.

Genius, smartass in the same vein as Spurrier, and pulls tail.

Next thread.

Kiffin was too much drama. Sark called a great game against Ohio State. Sark

I think Kiffin and Ole Miss fit like a glove. I think Kiffin at Texas would flop like he did at Tennessee.

Sark could be successful anywhere.

Kiffin at Auburn would be fun

Only if he treated them like he did Tennessee.

What’s the story behind this? I don’t follow Bama football that closely.

Watching Sark's offenses was one of the greatest joys of the Saban era IMO. Pure joy.

I’d go with Kiffin just because he doesn’t have the propensity to show up to work drunk and then sue you for firing him for it

He had already accepted the head coaching job at FAU and was essentially a missing person during bowl prep, not putting much effort into it. Saban told him to kick rocks, which basically led to our losing the championship game.

Truly. Every time the ball left the QB’s hand, we were expecting a big play. And more times than not, we were right.

He didn’t flop at Tennessee. He improved their record to 7-6 and then bolted for USC

Both were fired from USC. One was for his alcoholism and showing up to a booster event drunk and slurring his words during a speech. But yeah, Kiffin isn’t as mature as that guy

Except when he filled in for Kiffin against Clemson. If he had kept running the ball down their throat Bama wins. Clemson had no answer for Bo Scarborough and when he went down Sark didn't give any of the other RBs a chance. To be fair, going from an analyst to OC overnight was sort of baptism by fire.
