Beamer named LaNorris Sellers the starter on Tuesday afternoon while speaking with reporters. He beat out Robby Ashford and Davis Beville for the starting job.

Beamer needs to get more production out of his TE. He’s probably the fastest guy in the SEC right now. But he won’t.

He’s a Big QB but was all but unknown in recruiting. He went 4 for 4 last year in limited time… it’s just going from Rattler to this seems out of character for Beamer. I thought he would be able to recruit QBs.

I'm not sure I'm following you. Sellers went to a historically poor high school program, and was somewhat overlooked. But he was a priority late in the cycle, and Beamer was ecstatic to land him. He looked excellent in limited action last year. There's a reason for cautious optimism in Sellers, for sure.

And he's a threat to run too. At 6' 3" - 245 lbs 40 time with a 4.56 time, he's a big guy that's got wheels.
With Rocket Sangers in the backfield as well, expect a heavy dose of zone read from the Gamecocks this season. Totally different offense from last years team...

0h it's good Lonnie - all good -
the last QB we had that had this skill set as Sellers does ended up 27-5 as a starter for Carolina - Shaw had some leaky OL play too early on and used his feet well -
