So, let’s go to fantasy land and pretend Sankey didn’t bend over for Del Conti and flip the schedules.

I’m guessing both teams would go 9-3

Sooners have a most difficult schedule. You guys go on the road into tougher environments more compared to horn. They get their first SEC game at home, Georgia at home, Florida at home, Kentucky at home, OU at neutral. They go to Arkansas on Sam Pittman’s hot seat year.

Shoot, Sankey probably got a spanking from CDC for putting Georgia on the schedule.

It’s going to be interesting to see if Ewers or Haynes King plays Georgia better this year.

This board the last 3 years:

"Texas will have no influence in this league. You're lucky we even let your beggin arse in."

"Texas will be lucky to win 8 games in this league"

This board today:

"The SEC commissioner bent over and gave Texas the easiest schedule in the history of the league. "

"Texas better win the SEC championship with that schedule"

True, but that's all going to be irrelevant when they get hammered by us at Kyle Field.

Our defense always gets better as the year goes on.

Genuine question, not being an arse here: is that not usually the case for most teams?

Nope. Some teams like the Sooners suck at defense year round.

9 wins is about right with their schedule. I think TX loses to you and at least 3 more with your schedule.

OU plays 6 of 8 (75%) games against SEC Top 25. The teams outside the Top 25: at Aub, SCar

Texas plays 3 of 8 (38%) games against SEC Top 25. The teams outside top 25: State, at Vandy, UF, at Arky and UK

What is your definition of “hammered”? A&M hasn’t beaten Texas by more than one score since the late 90s

If app state can survive, I’m not too worried about the Longhorns’ chances

You realize I was replying to an aggie fan that just said their team was going to “hammer” Texas despite finishing each of the last three years unranked, right?

That would be bravado

You need to let go of saying they did this to favor tx.

They took the last 11 years records of all SEC teams plus OU/tx and then ranked them best to worst. And then used that model to set schedules.

It just so happens quite a few teams we play were down over most of those 11 years and happen to be up now.

Tx made out because they sucked the last 11 years the only time in life it pays to suck. But it was not a conspiracy against OU or made to favor tx, they actually tried to make it fair for all 16 teams so please stop saying that.

Next year is same schedule but reverses home/away.

When you know your objective its easy to identify the methodology to use.

I think you're being a bit naive.
