I'm of the opinion that life is good anywhere as long as you want it to be.

I can't imagine wanting to live anywhere other than the South. I'm fine if many prescribe to that line of thinking, because it keeps property prices down and a smaller population.

Amen on the first statement.

When asked by my elitist, Northern friends why I like the South, I usually don't have an answer. I usually just say something to the effect of "I just like it."

It's a friendly, enjoyable place, for sure. It may not have any transparent redeeming characteristics, but I like it, for sure.

Living in the United States is living in the United States. No states are extremely different. The main differences are climate and price.

What with us being in the Information Age, the country is much more alike than it has ever been, just as the world is becoming much more alike.

With the exception of some California schools and ASU, the best looking women I've seen come from the SEC.

Rutgers has some really good fans. They were all really friendly and polite. It sucks we didn't have anything better to host the Papa Johns bowl. Legion Field was embarrassing. They need to renovate or knock it down. The field goals weren't even straight.

Legion Field is just a representation of what Birmingham has slowly become over the last 30 years.

I wouldn't live in Jefferson County unless it was Mountain Brook.

Hunstville is the best metro area in the state, but I think Mobile will start to get going within the next 30 years.

Saban's comments will have a negative effect on Alabama's fanbase. If this topic gets much more publicity Saban will regret it. He may want to go back to LSU but that would be a disaster in every way - however if he keeps dissing Alabama and Tuscaloosa - no matter how many wins he has - he'll lose the fans and get his wish to leave if that's what he wants.

Saban is a great coach but an insensitive idiot with the press and his inconsiderate references to Tuscaloosa/Alabama - insults to the fans.

This story will only grow legs if he says anything else negative about Alabama. The Alabama press will put pressure on Saban to give a clear and unambiguous answer "Do you want to be at Alabama?" If he doesn't - he'll lose a vast amount of goodwill and create a controversy that will ultimately undo him at Alabama - regardless of his success there. He won't get fired but the Honeymoon will end and the job will become a burden. I'd rather see Saban leave if he really doesn't like it there - Alabama will survive.

If Saban doesn't like it at Alabama I hope he ends up back at LSU after Miles gets fired.

He's upset a lot of people with those insensitive statements. Considering the job he has and the money he's getting paid he's showing an alarming amount of immaturity.

Folks like you are the reason he would dislike the job.

Thats kinda sad really, them ppl actually sound like they are deeply hurt by that. Most seem to have accepted the fact that Saban will never feel about Alabama the way he does LSU.

Saban is just playing politics. He knows he will be playing in N.O. for many years to come when the Sugar Bowl rolls around and he doesn't want it to feel like he's fighting yall on top of the team we will be beating, especially the years it is the N.C. game.

Shreveportbama-
You're an idiot if you think it doesn't matter. I can't speak for all Alabama fans but if Saban really doesn't want to be there - he's just doing it for the money - I think it will sour the majority of the fanbase on him - rightfully so. Alabama football is as much about the state of Alabama and it's fans as it is about the school and the team. If Saban continues to disrespect Alabama publically he'll be gone - soon. He's got a heavenly job in a place that worships football winners but it'll turn into hell on earth if he continues to diss the Capstone and it's fans.

Why do Alabama fans find it hard to believe that Saban likes Louisiana?

Please tell me where he has 'disrespected' Alabama? Unless, of course, you mean he has state that he liked Louisiana?

I liked my high school in Shreveport, but that doesn't mean I don't like the one I'm going to now.
