Every single game outside of 2 has been an absolute classic since Kirby has been at Georgia.

But is that it? Is there enough noise outside the game for Georgia to even be considered something similar to a non traditional like LSU? I mean, if you think about it, Kirby essentially did the same thing to Nick that Nick did to LSU literally a decade apart. didn’t hear the same kind of chatter, though.

No, though it was more of an annual game pre-1992.

There’s a little thing there with Kirby, but no not really.

Bama and UGA are just the big dawgs right now so it feels that way.

LSU is the closest thing outside of Auburn and Tennessee.

I wish I had been able to go to some Georgia vs. Alabama SECCGs. My work stopped providing free tickets to them after 2016.

shite so arse man Them mid 2010s Florida fans are about as toxic as purified water.

No, they're kinda like Florida or LSU. I don't necessarily like them, but losing to them is not the some personal ordeal as losing to Auburn or Tennessee. I would say Florida is actually closer to being a rivalry because of how annoying they were for the entire first 17 years of my life

No - over the history playing UGA, there haven’t been enough meaningful games.

Nah, it's a great game but it's not a rivalry.

No, it isn't. Historically they've dodged each other. It's a great game currently since they've both been good teams. Doesn't make it a rivalry.

Played a lot pre-1980. Only played 4 times between 1992 and 2006.

It was one of Alabama's yearly games pre-1960, so much so that Georgia is mentioned in the fight song (along with Georgia Tech).

We haven’t play often enough, but that could change.

Not really, I pull for UGA unless they play Bama.

Young Georgia fans think of it that way, as a rivalry. Recency. Just like some millennial Georgia fans think of South Carolina as a rival because Spurrier beat us a few times.

Alabama is not a traditional rival of Georgia.

Georgia and Alabama share rivals, they aren't rivals.

Yes in the sense that they are rival- peer programs

Same as Georgia and FSU

FSU is the real rival of UGA and Alabama that’s why the sec won let them into the conference because the thought of a Florida program that actually wants to compete is a legit threat to them.

The uaa has made UF the same caliber as usf to UGA and the really big boys of the sec

No. Bama and LSU is closer to a rivalry, but that’s not a rivalry either.

No. Bear and Vince were too afraid to play each other regularly so they loaded up on Tulane and GT instead.

59-39-7 UT isn’t a rival anymore. More like a warmup.

Figured that would reference Mississippi State given how much more often they played Bama.

They feel like Florida. Until 2012, the only team ALABAMA played in the SECCG was Florida. Which happened quite often in those 20 years. Those games were as much a product of divisions in the SEC as anything else.

At this point I would simply call it Atlanta rivals more than anything else.
