In addition to Alabama's soon to be awarded 19th national championship for the 2023 season, Alabama has another highly esteemed laurel to place in its iconic crimson helmet.

The very best football player to ever suit up in the history of this sport that we all love and enjoy wore the storied colors of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

His name is Will Reichard. He scored more points in the game of college football than any other human being to ever play the sport.

That's the end of the discussion, really. This achievement has never been surpassed and likely never will be again.

Kickers are the equivalent of a pinch runner...you gotta have them, but you dont want to know their names.

This is my favorite bama kicker…

Tiffin was a hero, kicking the game-winning 47-yard field goal, in Alabama's 13–10 win over Vanderbilt on September 9, 2006. However, two weeks later against a very strong Arkansas team, he would miss three field goals in a 24–23 overtime loss, including the game-tying extra point.

If only Alabama had beaten Texas at home.

Congratulations to the official 2023 Champs, the Washington Huskies.

I am glad Alabama is finally showing appreciation for the kicker. I am old enough to remember when poor old Cade Foster had to shut down his social media because Bama fans wanted to kill him.

He graduated in 2013. That isn't a big qualifier for age and wisdom.

The fanbase does have a long history of violence

The Tiffin's were great. They both work at the family business now.

Maybe Cade Foster wanted to be threatened; we can't determine whether he did or not. It's best to mind our own business.

I don't play football, Mr. Know-It-All. This is about the Crimson Tide football team, not me.

But sometimes, like when your kicker is the very best player ever, they get attention.

Reichard may very well enable Minnesota to win a Super Bowl again; he is truly a transformational player.

Mr. Football

quote:

To end practice on Saturday, the Vikings gave rookie kicker Will Reichard some live reps in front of his teammates, coaches, and a few hundred fans. The 23-year-old stepped up and drilled one from extra point distance, 33 yards out, to get things started. Then he moved back to 42 yards and smashed another ball through the uprights. Same thing from 46, the number on his jersey. And from 48. And from 53.

For the cherry on top, Reichard's last attempt came from 58 yards out. He calmly went through his approach and blasted the football well above the crossbar to complete a 6-for-6 session. The kick would've been good from 65. Teammates cheered and ran to Reichard to celebrate. The fans in attendance at TCO Performance Center, many of them jaded by decades of Vikings kicking woes, gave a standing ovation.

It was quite the impressive display from Reichard, who has a big-time right leg. That's why the Vikings made him this year's highest-drafted kicker when they selected him in the sixth round. After a standout career at Alabama in which he became the all-time scoring leader in NCAA history, Reichard's next goal is to establish himself in the NFL and break this franchise's kicking curse.

Our walk on kicker nailed a 58 yarder in our spring game.

I don't know who this poster WilliamTaylor21 is, but he follows me from thread to thread trying to get me to comment. It's kind of weird.
