Just curious how often and what your fave is. Sometimes schools overdo them and I think its the apparel companies pushing them mostly (gotta $ell more bling). But I’ve seen some good ones from teams as well.
OU is doing a throwback on 7 Sep and I like this one.

And good:
"Oklahoma also announced it is retiring its 'Rough Riders' alternate uniforms, which debuted in 2014 and featured a wood-grain design on the helmets and pants/jersey trim. The Sooners wore those uniforms at least once every season."

A&M did a 1939 throwback helmet once. it was pretty cool. Even had a leather like substance to depict the fact those were leather helmets back in the day

It's always nice to see teams celebrate their last major national championship in anything.

The Rebs' uniforms haven't changed much for a long time now.
It would be cool to see Colonel Reb on the helmet again, such as below, but we all know that ain't happenin'.

Bruh 1994 is a hell of a lot closer to present day than 1939.
Your 1939 throwback helmets show the same equipment wasn't even being used today. It isn't like they were using peach baskets as hoops in 1994.

These jerseys were "throwbacks," the rest of the uniform not so much
We did wear throwback helmets against Ole Miss in 2018. But our uniforms have basically been the same since 1958

You guys get Stoops Day and he was never afraid of SEC. This is 2nd to last game of year so will be interesting who has the most able bodied players left which is usually a big deal in late season games.

2018 Ole Miss was the most Matt Luke of Matt Luke moments.
Down 28-3 with one second to go in the first half, Ole Miss kicks a field goal from the LSU one fricking yardline to make it 28-6 going into the break. LSU received the second half kickoff.

This was a sharp look.

This is the only reason it is done. Don't forget that the athletic departments get a cut of sales, too.
If there were not money to be made, it would not be happening.

Basically every game since it doesn't really change, and the only thing they could do is bring back those horrid white helmets that absolutely nobody(sane) wants to see.

I think we’ve done it before, but I usually put past seasons behind me so someone else will need to chime in. Likely a masochist.
