'People were in fear for their life' | 3 people taken to hospital from crowd surge at SEC Celebration at UT Austin
quote:

"It just slowly progressed and got hotter. And people were drinking, and then it got more and more violent as the night went on," Smith said. "For example, one of our bar girls that was working, a dude grabbed her by the head and smashed her face into her knee, punched her in the knee. I had to carry her with an arm around her neck, put ice on her head and keep her conscious."

Sounds like a great crowd. Y’all must be so proud.

I live in Texas, No one in Austin gives a flying frick about athletics. That town is basically just a high temperature version of San Francisco

For a free Pit Bull concert. Most couldn’t give 2 shits about the sips joining the SEC.

Wrong.

30,000 people were tracked at the day event participating in the celebration.

Once Pitbull concert started later that evening, crowd jumped to 50,000.

This makes more sense, Austin is much more a community that would attend a Pitbull concert than give a frick about some sport. They're too busy growing their women's armpit hair, hitting people up for money and smashing the patriarchy.

We've been through this Micah, you live in some shitty DFW suburb and have never been to Austin.

This is false.

I've lived in Texas my whole life with the exception of a few years out of town for work. I'm a Texas alumnus and lived in Austin for a bit.

Most SEC schools are in towns/cities where they are the biggest (or only) thing going on, so it's all-consuming.

UT is in Austin, which is a big enough place in its own right, with a LOT of other things happening.

It's as rabid a place as any other; it's just less all-consuming, appearance wise, because it's not the only thing in town.

Literally everyone in the united states agrees with me. You and the 1000 or so actual texas fans left in austin love to pretend that lakes are exclusive to your area. DFW and San Antonio shite on Austin by the way. 3rd best metro area in the state. If houston wasnt so fricking humid and crime ridden you'd be 4th because of the shite people that live in that god forsaken town.
