Your favorite Red River Rivalry game? I thought the 2008 game was fantastic.

1977.

Texas (#5) beat OU (#2) 13-6, for the first time in 7 years, led by Earl scoring on a 24 yard gallop right before halftime. Texas was #1 the rest of the year and Earl won the Heisman.

OU had the best team in College Football in '74 & '75, beating Texas each year in 1 score games.

'76 game ended in a 6-6 tie.

Usually, these games are very close which makes for a very enjoyable game. The back and forth keeps the fan bases dialed in the whole game. I love them all except for when either team dominates the other. Two years ago sucked because OU was dominated. And, when OU dominates Texas it is no fun to watch. I enjoy the tight games and the battle.

Caleb's 2021 year when Oklahoma came back three touchdowns down. My boys and I got to witness the souls of 40,000 Longhorn fans leave their bodies all at once. I tear up still thinking about it LOLOL

I remember OU scoring just before half time and thinking "frick."

Too many for a fave. 2021 was so great and emotional swings. Tx was so pumped up and had such a big lead they were never so loud. And then OU came back from the biggest RRS deficit to win.

Last year was great too and tx had the ball on 1 yard line with 4 downs. Here is that sequence

It was silent on the OU side at half. Then in the third when everyone started chanting "Caleb", and then Lincoln finally put him in.. The Sooner Magic happened.

It was insanity on the OU side when it finally ended.

I particularly liked the 2007 game. The were only 5 shootings in the Cotton Bowl Hood, 25 stolen vehicles and 153 cars towed due to "residents" taking over a vacant lot and charging $20 to park.

Love the tradition of that annual affair.

The 49-0 game in 2022 was my favorite.

The one where Quentin Griffin scored a record six TDs just running the smoke draw over and over.

49-0 - not really… that OU team was trash. In reality, anytime we win is great.

I’ve been to many in my 40 years.

Tops for me would be:

1. 2001 - 14-3, Superman Roy Williams
2. 2004 - 12-0, AD ran wild
3. 2008 - 35-45, both equally great
4. 2000 - 63-14, OU is back!
5. 2023 - Gabriel to Anderson

It’s the Red River Shootout. And, my favorite is ‘05. Ended a losing streak, dominated the line of scrimmage & capped it off with a natty.
