I feel like with Texas being in the SEC they will naturally take on better rivalries. Missouri and Arkansas yap a lot.

our rivals are:
1a. OU
1b. Texas A&M
2. Arkansas
Missouri posters are annoying af but Texas and Missouri have zero history

We beat OU in a bowl game the only time we have met in football. We swept them 2-0 in the Omaha finals the only time we have met them in baseball.
It's really hard to call them a rival when they've literally never beaten us at anything.....

Whichever team wins the most will be hated the most. It doesn't matter who they are.

The Oklahoma rivalry thing in the SEC is actually a good question.
Texas. Obviously.
Texas A&M? In real life it was always the "enemy of my enemy is my friend"... but there is a lot of enmity from Aggies on message boards towards OU and the state of Oklahoma. Not really reciprocated.
Missouri? Mizzou people are just like the Aggies. Message board stuff mostly like Faurot's comment earlier in this thread. Not really that much in real life... but it could heat up.
LSU? People in Oklahoma bitch about LSU fans in New Orleans but if they get treated okay in BR (which we are assured we will be)... I don't think it will be that big a rivalry off the field.
Arkansas could be and should be a rival with Oklahoma.
It has all the elements. Fayetteville is damn near IN Oklahoma and for decades... Tulsa was their go to city until NW Arkansas boomed. Tulsa was the #1 out of state place for Arkansas grads to live until DFW boomed.
Oklahomans look down their noses at Arkies. And Arkansans look down their noses at Okies.
Arkansas' coach is an Okie... and Oklahoma's most famous and notorious coach was an Arkie.
The schools are relatively close together.
Yet the conference didn't schedule the two teams in football..
And they didn't get a home and home in basketball

OU is not our rival. Only Kansas is. That being said, I hate OU. They kept us out of the NC in 2007 and the final four in 2002.

In my experience OU is a lot more tolerable and orders of magnitude less douchey than UTa.

Not if they keep winning. Rivalries are born from a lot of give and take on the field. With divisions biting the dust, all of us are going to see new and different rivals coming into focus. It's a matter of time now before historical rivals go the way of the dodo bird.

I'm sure they'll work their way up the ladder by September or so.

As long as Skeletor is their coach, SC fans will hate on them...

Texas is hated by pretty much everyone outside of Austin. Most just know Oklahoma for tornados and double wide trailers. Not much to have a rivalry against ...

Texas is their rival. It used to be Nebraska.
