Did Brian Kelly take a pay cut to coach at LSU?

After reading about how he essentially called players mercenaries for wanting to get as much money as they could, I am wondering if Kelly took a pay cut to coach at LSU since it has so much to offer. Or would he have taken a pay cut or settled on an average salary to coach at LSU since it is an AMAZING school?

So true. Only difference is that one coach was dumb enough to say it publicly when everyone knows that he is full of it.

Hmmm…He said some dumb things, no doubt. Don’t recall him insinuating players are mercenaries for hire, though. Otherwise, he would have sounded like a hypocrite.

College football history is completely full of coaches constantly telling untruths. However, what Kelly said recently (about LSU not being in the market to pay for players) is the most recklessly and comically dishonest thing ever spoke by any coach in college football history. Kelly deserves every jab.
