Many expected Terrion Arnold to go earlier than he did in the 2024 NFL Draft, with the Detroit Lions ultimately stopping the Alabama cornerback's first-round slide by selecting him No. 24 overall. According to Arnold, the Las Vegas Raiders nearly swiped him much earlier, only to instead take tight end Brock Bowers at No. 13 overall because of ... a coin toss.

"And actually the Raiders coach, they called me after the draft, and they were like, 'We actually had a coin toss between you and Brock Bowers. It landed on him.' I was like, 'Oh wow.'"

Seems like an NFL team would have a better plan than a coin flip.

Not true according to Raiders coaches. Looks like Arnold made it up to bolster his image of himself.

Honestly, if this was true the GM should be fired. You don't make first round picks based on a coin flip even if there are two guys available that you like.

I'll also say this, it probably wasn't the smartest of picks for them because the drafted a TE early in the 2nd round last season. Maybe they envision a lot of two TE sets or playing Brock in the slot. I dont know but they are supposed to be a really run heavy team so it just seems like a strange pick.

Brock bowers isn't a tight end.

He's basically a running back quality ball carrier that you can line up all over the field.

His biggest hindrance in the NFL will be if the OC wants to make him the motion man (which means a quicker Tyreke Hill isn't being used to create those mismatches)
