1 - How does he know that $$$ is the only motivation for these players he's referring to?
2 - How can he say that $$$ wasn't Baker's only motivation?

It's a disingenuous stance.
The STL Post Dispatch reported that Mizzou was prepared to make a competing offer to Baker so it would seem that money was the only factor in his decision.

Because in the case of the player he's referring to, his handler was asking for more money than any player on the roster or coach on staff other than Kelly is making in a year.
