What about Q1 teams losing to Q2, Q3 and Q4 teams?

Guess which Q1 team remains undefeated against all three (Q2, Q3, and Q4)?

There was a thread about it a few weeks back. Last 5 or so national champions had 0 losses against Q3 and Q4 teams.

I had never looked at this stat before.. but this is probably why Texas got ranked this week.

Texas 4-0 in Q1 Series
Texas 2-0 in Q2 Series

If we had an ace, we actually might be pretty good. Our younger bats have developed nicely over the year. It helps having Tulo back around.. Too bad our pitching coach sucks..

Looks like 3-0 in Q2 as of now.

But how the hell do you have 2 Q4 series losses?

State laying an egg in nonconference is probably going to cost them a chance for a Top 8. Specifically those 5 days in February where they lost 3 games to Air Force and Austin Peay.

Like I have been saying all year.. just a weird team..
8-0 in Q1, Q2, Q3 series
this is good
but 8 Q4 losses (Washington 2x, BYU 2x, Baylor, A&M-CC, UTRGV, Texas State)
this is really bad

Our pitching sucks. If LBJ was the ace we would probably be hosting a regional and might have a shot at a National Seed.. Whitt getting reinjured didn't help much either.

Oklahoma has pretty much the opposite resume.
3-6 vs the Top 4 Big 12 teams (1-2 vs each of Texas, OSU, WVU)
15-0 against everyone else

eta: While we are missing an ace, we also suck hitting against good pitching.. which is a really good sign that we don't have much of a chance to go anywhere this year. It will take Six Pierce Rabbit's to advance out of a regional. Our only chance is to toss scrubs in the first 2 games and hope we split.. Then we would have the 3 best pitchers ready to go for the last 3 games (against whoever we face).. when hopefully they have run out of pitching.. I don't imagine Pierce will opt for this strategy however.
