The funny thing about AU basketball fans, all of which started watching just 5 years ago, is that they don’t understand that GCU did more in this tournament than Kentucky has in about half a decade. They think beating a Cal coached KY team in the tourney is hard, and that Yale, Oakland, and St. Peter’s are apparently strong opponents while GCU sucks. Never change Aubbies

They may not totally be catching on. Their fans wear hard hats to games because only God knows why while their defense is so soft it makes the All-Star game blush.

This is great stuff, Jang. Keep this up!!
Touting a KY home win despite Cal’s epic failures in the tourney that almost got him fired with a $30mm parting gift.
Talking about not caring about regular season despite his own school finishing the regular season 2 seeds lower in the SEC…in the regular season.
Making fun of a map due to one game’s point differential, despite his arch enemy’s coach owning every relevant metric including regular season records, regular season championships, conf tournament championships, and a huge disparity in NCAAT success.
But hey, you only lost to Yale by a small margin rather than Bama’s embarrassing 18 point loss in early Feb at AU so it wasn’t that bad, right?!?! Good enough for a moral victory at least, to go along with that 18 point home win. Lolololol

Alabama and Auburn are both going to be preseason top 10 next year. Both (along with Tennessee) are clearly the best programs in the league the last 5 years.
I enjoy watching Auburn lose to Yale and all that but it's pretty cool that the conference and national media landscape of the league runs through both of us.

That might be funny if the vast majority of Bama basketball fans weren’t attending games 20+ years ago. I wasn’t around for Wimp, but most of us posters were there for Mark Gottfried (look him up, you’ll realize there actually was basketball being played in this state prior to 2019).

Everything will make sense if you admit yall dont care about winning in the regular season. Lost 4-6 to finish the regular season
After the loss to UT the conference title was off the table. Oats started gearing up for the tournament. Seems like it was a good plan.

Those failures probably wouldn't have prevented him from getting a win against Bama.

Well we didnt finish the season losing 4 out of 6. The whole conference was passing yall around like whores in an orgy.

This dumbass really doesn’t know anything about basketball. We wear hard hats in case part of Coleman Coliseum falls on our head.

regular season championships,
In what fricking world. Bruce has two at Auburn, Oats has two at Bama. Bruce also has three at Tennessee

Not really. Bruce has an elite 8 and FF. Oats just has a FF.

quote:And Beard-Eaves was filled up when Cliff had it rolling. Always very funny when Bama fans express this faux superiority as if they always have cared. I grew up in the state with Bama fans as majority of my friends and family. They generally don’t give a shite about bball. They did perk up when bama made it to the elite eight and when they beat Auburn at home. So that’s cool.

Enjoy your team and quit spouting that Twitter rhetoric that those dumb Bama twitter personalities shove onto your feed. It’s getting worse than Finebaum callers.

Lol. That guy was decent for one year and loved humping sorority presidents. I am willing to bet I know more about Bama basketball in this time frame than even you. Mediocre timeframe but Alonzo Gee, Jermareo Davidson, Erwin Dudley, Ronald Steele, and so on. Just mediocre...

If you’re trying to say that Bama has more FOGs than AU, well yeah…our football success is many multiples of AU’s football success. That’s just logic.
However, Bama basketball fans have been materially more knowledgeable and been around a lot longer than AU Basketball fans. Half the AU basketball fans I encounter don’t even know all the rules, let alone the nuances of strategy of the game.
I will say, AU bball fans are fully passionate, regardless of whether they know the game of basketball or not. They’ve been desperate for any kind of a sustainable winning program other than equestrian or swimming and Bruce gave that to them for awhile.

Not going to rehash the stats of the last 5 seasons between Oats and Bruce, the only seasons Oats has coached in the SEC. It’s been posted multiple times and you’ve commented on it. It’s absolutely astonishing to see Bruce’s tDecline in success after Daddy Oats came to town, astonishing.

After you just lied about Oats having more regular season championships and so on with a straight face I don't even want to talk your dumb arse. Go read a book or something.

Regular Season
2 vs 2
Conference Tournament
2 vs 2
Your whole "every single metric" argument is complete bullshite like I commented then.
I don't give a shite if Oats has only been in the league for five years either. It isn't my fault he was in HS doing girl schout cookies fundraisers while Bruce was already knee deep in success and troubles.

quote:Pal, that is the same experience I’ve had with Bama bball fans as you describe Auburn fans. I grew up with Bama fans all around me my whole life. Grew up playing the sport and attending Auburn and Bama bball games. Bama has no room to act superior or more knowledge that Auburn fans. Just quit with the act and log off Twitter.
