You never realize just how much of a dump New Orleans is until you leave. I lived in Nashville right after the hurricane then L.A. for 11 years. I grew up in a “middle class” neighborhood in New Orleans that would be considered a so/so area in L.A. and a downright shite hole by Nashville standards.

New Orleans is a dangerous, poor, dirty, ugly dump. Cultcha is only cool in high school.

I love Nola as much as the next guy, but there’s no denying currently that it’s an absolute third world war zone. Memphis is basically New Orleans without all of the cool redeeming elements. Atlanta is basically Memphis, but bigger.
