as bad as the men's refs. Why decide the outcome of the game...let the players do that. I don't think either team could beat the lady cocks.

Technically was it a foul? Maybe. But you don't call something that ticky tacky in that moment. If it isn't egregious, swallow your whistle and let the players play.

I mean she threw a crack block on that

That crack block got Paige open.

This is why I never could get into basketball. The fouls have never come close to making any sense to me. The refs seem to have an extreme amount of control over the outcome of the games more so than other sports. I guess due to the possible fast paced scoring that can happen, especially in the final seconds with timeouts etc.

I’ll take full blame for pushing WBB on tRant, but Barbie is out and it’s over.

It was absolutely the right call. It wasn’t a baby foul, it was throwing an elbow to get her teammate open. You should go to YouTube comments. The lefties who wanted Clark to lose are screaming their asses off. Obvious they don’t know crap about basketball.

It was the right call but I get that the ncaa has its reasons for officiating.

I know some say that calls should not be made in last second situations and let the players decide...but there are times when refs don't make the call, they also determine the outcome of the game. Just look at the Saints-Rams game no -call. Or to use a women's basketball example when Notre Dame beat Mississippi State, Morgan Williams stole a pass and was headed down on a break with 5 seconds left and was drilled to the ground by a Notre Dame player and no call on blatant contact....The call tonight was not on a slight screen-it was also a blatant moving screen. Right Call!

I thought it was a foul but even if its not called, UCONN still has to score to win the game. No guarantee of that but everyone's acting as if the ref took points off the board.

The best call was in the first half when the Iowa player was not even contacted by anyone. One could say the calls the last 5 minutes of the first half were what really got Iowa back in the game.
U Conn has won a lot though and I’m sure been on the other side of favoritism a few times.

I would argue ignoring a foul designed to get the playmaker the ball in a key moment is a ref interfering with the game.

Girl could have gotten the exact same effect without putting the visible oompf into it. Everybody in the arena is looking right at you and you visibly put your upper arm/shoulder into the defender??? Ref could have let it go but don't act like this girl didn't give the ref absolute reason to call the foul.

The player fouled the opponent. Pretty dumb on her part, but not as dumb as the idea of wanting the ref to let her foul without a call.

It was a good call. I've never believed in the "let them play" late argument. Just be consistent throughout. Try and call the first minute like you intend to call the last, so players can adjust to the calls.
It was a foul, so the player who committed it did help settle the outcome.

I had to go look up the video. It was a horseshite call at any time and especially then. That said, people are there to watch Caitlin Clark and the show must go on

Moving screens are literally fouls, and the time should be irrelevant.
