I said earlier that Texas A&M would be a surprise team to be pretty good this coming season.

We should've never given McElroy a platform

We aren't making the playoffs

He and Spears were pretty good on "Thinking Out Loud", but yeah, since then I hit the mute button.

This is certainly TX A&M's time of the year... April. People rememberthe teams of... APRIL?

You also said they'd win the West last year, if I remember correctly.

I’m surprised he didn’t say Florida.

This is the same guy who said Mizzou was going to have a painful 2023 after our 2022 season was full of 1 score losses just like he is mentioning as positive in this article. Maybe he learned something.

Elko impressed me at Duke. With that talent base, being the 12th-best team in the country should be doable. But I was making that call before G-Mac had anything to say. I would say VaTech would be out on a limb. Just too much competition for the top 12 for an ACC team that doesn't recruit well.

Has been predicted to be a surprise every year since they joined

It’s possible A&M has a good year. They do have a lot of talent on campus. Their schedule is pretty favorable as well.
No Georgia or Alabama.
No Oklahoma or Tennessee.
No Ole Miss.
Notre Dame, Missouri, Texas & LSU all at home.
If they can go 2-2 or better vs that group, they have a good shot at the playoffs.

Maybe. I’d be comfortable with not getting pre-season hype though. First year coach so we’ll see how it goes. But the vibe is definitely so much better around the program.

He’s been hanging around Desmond Howard too much.
Our schedule isn’t terrible, and there is a lot of talent still on the roster, but we haven’t been developing players well over the last few years. Elko has a fair amount of work in front of him.

The schedule the next two years will be by far the easiest we have ever had since joining the league. Our offense can only get better from the mess Jimbo put out there the last two years. And Elko knows defense. Greg making that prediction is not earth shattering news.

I never said that. I said that Texas A&M will be a pretty good football team. The team will be a lot better than the team Fisher coached last year.
