Johnny Jones missed the NIT with a top 10 (in terms of talent) starting 5 in the country including national freshman of the year and unanimous All-American Ben Simmons. I believe 4/5 of the starting 5 made an NBA roster.
He isn't the worst ever, but that was the worst coaching job in LSU basketball history IMO.

Billy Gillispie is Kentucky's worst. In the SEC overall it's probably someone from Ole Miss Auburn or Georgia. They've been abysmal historically.

I hate this reminder. Simmons, Blakeney, Quarterman, Gray and Sampson all made NBA appearances at some point from that team. That doesnt include Craig Victor or Keith Hornsby who were really good college players too on that team.
It's ridiculous Johnny Jones went 19-14 with that team

It looked like we were a shoe in for the tournament sitting at 8-2 in the SEC, then he went 3-5 last 8 SEC games to finish 11-7 SEC and went 1-1 in SECT for us to not get an invite ultimately. He lost to Marquette, College of Charleston, NC State, Wake Forest and Houston OOC who all didnt make the NCAAT that season. Wake and NC State had losing records. College of Charleston finished 8-10 in the CAA and he lost by 12 to them
