If adding Clemson and FSU would mean more money for each of the teams in the SEC, the SEC will add teams.
If it's the same money or less they won't.
The SEC believed Texas and OU would mean more money per team. It didn't work out that way. The ESPN per team payout remained unchanged. It just went up enough to cover Texas and OU's share.
Clemson and FSU have less money making potential that OU and Texas. They're not going to be added unless the situation changes and adding them guarantees more money for the existing SEC teams.
That's not because of SC or UF. It's because of all the SEC teams. Expansion needs to be financially beneficial for the existing schools for it to happen. Not as "potential" future earnings this time, but real promises of more money per team coming from ESPN.

Exactly right, the invisible hand of Adam Smith is finally at work.
We've had a century of inefficiency with desolate states like Oklahoma and Kansas getting 2 power conference paychecks. Now the market is finally correcting it and all you hear is crying from the teams that have had a century on the gravy train.
