wonder what kind of crowd hangs out under that bridge after dark? I am sure they are fine upstanding citizens who would never try to rob a lone drunk guy wandering around lost.

But we don’t even know that anyone was even there. And a cop had just driven through there and he and his car are sitting 50 yards away when he interacted with Riley. The cop was there for 45 minutes, so he would’ve heard yelling. Again, I’ve gone back and forth on this, but the police video makes me lean back towards accident.

When I posted that video on page 11, I thought it was something more dubious. At this point, who the hell knows

. I definitely thought the accidentally falling and drowning was a silly theory. That’s exceptionally difficult to do, even if you’re piss drunk.

People think there's a serial killer in Austin with how many bodies they've found in Lady Bird Lake.

I'm sorry sir, but your analysis does not jibe with laterial1's conclusion that ***everybody just falls in***

Someone had an interesting theory, that he was out of breath during the conversation with a cop, and that segment of the bridge (which I didn’t know about) is a straight shot downward to the bank. He may have stopped to catch his breath, rested on the railing just like the officers were doing in that picture, and fell in. That is something I could see happening. Also makes foul play less likely since the cop stayed there for 45 minutes or something.

I dunno. The kid’s clearly dead, and I just hope they find him for the family’s sake.

Have you seen the area where his card was found and his last cell ping? It’s not like slipping into a pond, it’s falling off a bluff. And into a river with tons of current from a lot of recent rain. And that’s if he was lucky enough to land directly into the river. And if it was an accident, he would’ve been fully clothed, wearing jeans and cowboy boots.

This has not been confirmed that I’m aware.

I just found this video, seems like his card was found here. It shows his route and every camera he was caught on. This is clearly a homeless camp and doesn't seem like a straight drop to the river, I could be wrong though.

It bizarre watching how messed up he was walking down the streets but he completely composed himself interacting with the cop.

If a homeless person was indeed wearing his shirt, it's been burned in an alley by now. He was wearing a very unique shirt and would be easy to identify, I believe the woman who claimed she saw it was probably right.

So where do you think he is?? If he fell into the Cumberland is he never gonna be found? Where did the two bodies recovered recently in the river during the search come from? Upstream?

I think he’s in the river…….somewhere. He may be found this week, in a month, or never.

No telling. Could’ve been dumped. Could’ve been suicides. I’m sure the authorities are cross checking local missing persons.

Would the location of that card not help alot on the likely fate of him? Atleast clear if the river is in play at all? From a brief search it appears to women found it with other washed up trash I'm assuming comes from the river.

- He either accidentally fell in / fall backwards and drowned. Depending on the fall and the height, he may have broken something or died on impact.

- He was robbed, mugged and killed or pushed off the ledge by homeless, vagabonds. This theory plays well with the debit card being found* and, the unproven rumor of some homeless man wearing his shirt**.

- Suicide is so far fetched and out of left field that it shouldn’t be considered.

* This makes sense. I don’t think the card magically flew out of his wallet or perhaps his front pocket on the fall. However, maybe he did have it in his front pocket, and it fell out when he pulled his cellphone out. We need more information, specifically, where it was found. Was it on the Cumberland River embankment and obviously had been in the water/covered with sand and debris? Was it where the police were pictured under the bridge?

** I’m not buying this, yet. If so, why didn’t the woman say something? Alert authorities? It was a unique, Charlie Sheen 2 and Half Men bowling style shirt, Riley was 6’7, 150 pounds (the shirt wouldn’t fit most). Wasn’t this also at a soup kitchen? Meaning, more people would have seen the man, cameras, etc.

Sad, sad story all around, whether accidental or foul play. Shows you the dangers of alcohol. We’ve all been there at Riley’s stage. I know I have. Poor kid…just in town with his friends I assume on spring break for a fraternity function. Probably had a lot of fun, and things can go wrong on a dime at that state.

Have the friends he was with said anything? Have they provided any sort of statement or public comment?

Nothing coming from that side has been eyebrow raising.

The friends who didn't make sure he made it back to the room safe?

A drunk guy accidentally drowning isn’t Occam’s razor at all. There are so many drunk people on Broadway every single night, they don’t just wander off and accidentally drown in the Cumberland. My first thoughts were suicide, but I think it’s more likely he was killed and robbed. I definitely thought the accidentally falling and drowning was a silly theory. That’s exceptionally difficult to do, even if you’re piss drunk.

Is it a silly theory to wonder if he was trying to take a piss in the river, lost his balance, and fell in the water?

There was a student at South Carolina who fell into the quarry when he was drunk. Falling into a river isn’t crazy
