Adding in OKC is reaching for an “OU” sports day.

True, very true. I learnt that from following this board. No one ever stays on topic so why not derail in my own original post. Trying to think ahead here, cut me some slack. :)

I was relieved when it wasn't anything good regarding football.

I think OKC is ok to mention in this context and on this board

To summarize, OU won a random baseball game, avoiding an upset in softball, did something in gymnastics, and won a lacrosse game.
That’s considered thread worthy for OU?
Vols won a random baseball game, softball threw a perfect game, 9 Vols set personal bests in the indoor track SECT, a men’s swimmer got SEC athlete of the year, is this thread worthy? I’m going with no.

OU softball beat Wisconsin 10-2 in a game that finished at 1:30am.
Now at 64 straight. IMO, they are not going undefeated this year. Everyone wants to be the team who ends streak so it’s pretty impressive. Miss State gave them a good run early but they made several errors that you can’t make and it allowed OU to open flood gates.
They play in their new field next week, grand opening on 1 Mar. HC Patty G and what she’s done is why that project got funded and built.
Not everything will be done but they will have enough to play in it. OU Softball has officially SOLD OUT the home opener at Love’s Field on March 1st.
The cheapest tickets on the secondary market (excluding standing room only tickets) are currently going for $125 before fees. It holds 4,200 not counting standing room tix.
And yes, they used real grass. Only behind the plate and leading to dugouts area is fake grass. But 100% of field is real grass. Pics were taken Thu:

Good for you! I do recall that OU baseball beat Tenn a week ago. And we beat both SEC teams we played last night too.
Can’t wait for football season, all these other sports are fillers in the meantime. At least its actual sports I posted about and not the usual off season troll post. It shows OU in competitive in many sports when we join SEC on 1 July. We are coming to compete.

Doesn't football rely on subjective refs? If I could count the posts here about bad calls in football it would be the #1 topic posted about. Same for basketball. I would bet the gymnastics judges are better than basketball refs. College BB reffing is atrocious.

Don't feel bad I just found out we had a lacrosse team today too.

I don’t think any of us in the SEC have to worry about OU football. Doubt anyone thinks of OU as a blue blood in 5 years. Though I do think OU will be universally accepted as an SEC team quicker than Missouri, who, last I checked, no one can actually confirm whether they’re in the SEC.

Only at the worst possible moment. But gymnastics does it 100% of the time.
