He's been awesome. Just another example of the league finally taking basketball seriously and committing to putting a quality product on the court.
As an aside, it's also refreshing to see a coach with a little edge to him. I think a lot of us older fricks really appreciate that. The sports world is too soft. We need a little more "hate" in the conference in all sports. It makes the games way more enjoyable. It makes the conversations between fanbases more fun.

I agree. This has been a fun ride for this old guy. The SEC has really upgraded coaches the last 5 years.
What is your opinion of McMahon? They seem to be better this year and that was a huge win over USCe.

We're maybe around the same age. SEC had a bunch of coaches with edge back in the 80s. Fun time for SEC basketball. Glad to seemingly getting back there.

So long as he doesn't choke a player (or worse), I think his edge is a good thing.
Bobby Knight had a legendary temper, but was a great coach. If he hadn't gone off the rails he might have won over 1000 games.

People hate Nate Oats for the same reason they hated Steve Spurrier. He's got an edge to him and you can see on the sideline that he wants his team to annihilate your team.

Wimp Sanderson, Dale Brown, and Sir Bobby Knight knew how to get the best out of their teams!

great time to be a fan.. numerous programs in the SEC are on the uptick... the buzz/excitement surrounding college BB in Alabama is impressive & steadily growing - primarily due to AU & UA making the right coaching hires..

Back when I was growing up you hated your rivals. Now everyone is everyone's friend on fb or Twitter. So I like to see some hate. Crazily enough though I also like that to come with good sportsmanship.
