He is also willing to turn a blind eye to a player bringing a gun to a murder committed by another player

If Charles Bediako had only stayed one more year. He would have had a phonem draft status. And Bama probably would have made it by sweet 16.

Isn't pretty much every roster rebuilt every season in college basketball now?
Certainly a lot more than ever before but you still notice a lot of teams with experience together at the top. A lot more chance of boom or bust on the almost completely rebuilt rosters, even among traditional powers.
Alabama (and Kentucky) has 2 returning players from last season in their Top 8 or so in minutes.
Tennessee and Auburn each have 5.

Hush. He’s no good. He’s an a-hole. Nobody wants Nate Oats.

We're maybe around the same age. SEC had a bunch of coaches with edge back in the 80s. Fun time for SEC basketball. Glad to seemingly getting back there.
Wimp and Sonny and Joe B. Hall, Dale Brown, Denny Crum, Pitino and Krzyzewski were coming on, …some great characters in that era. I’m leaving off many I know.
ETA: Can’t believe I left out Gene Bartow. Followed John Wooden at UCLA and then built UAB from the ground up.

I don't think this years' team has what it takes for a deep run because of the front court. Physical teams in the tournament will deal them a fit. Oats has to recruit a bruiser or two.
But you never know. Get hot and keep getting there and they will break through some time. They play the best teams so theyve seen them before.
I also don't think this is a REAL contender like last year's team. This is the type of team that could go home quick or have a fun few games before running into someone that can score but also play defense.

Bama just got to get to next year to get a big man inside again. I don't think Oats thought Bediako would go pro and he couldn't get another big center in time.

I'd gladly swap Jerry Stackhouse for Nate Oats.Oats is going to keep sending teams to the tournament until he breaks through then what are the trolls going to do?
He's running the conference, how long will it be til he gets to the Elite Eight and beyond? To those Big Blue Idiots that think they can get him any time they want, he doesn't need you.
He can get where he wants to be right where he is without all the heat he'd get from you.

McMahon is still a work in progress. There's still a major talent gap between LSU and elite teams-- Bama, Auburn, Tennessee and Kentucky. We got two big portal guys this year in Jalen Cook and Jordan Wright, but it's not enough to make up upper echelon anytime soon.

Last year's team was extremely young and ran into a team with several 6th yr guys that have played together for a while.. I think they went pretty far no?
This team is much older actually.. Bama has 4 guards who can go for 20+ any game.. tourney play is about guards not bigs.

Won't know until after the investigation. But early bet is no.... falsely accused.

He's been awesome. Just another example of the league finally taking basketball seriously and committing to putting a quality product on the court.
great time to be a fan.. numerous programs in the SEC are on the uptick... the buzz/excitement surrounding college BB in Alabama is impressive & steadily growing - primarily due to AU & UA making the right coaching hires..

Vanderbilt should've hired Steve Forbes. Darian Devries is alot like Nate Oats and he's making peanuts at Drake.

What is your opinion of McMahon? They seem to be better this year and that was a huge win over USCe.
Needs to recruit, recruit, recruit
Good Coach
Players play hard for him
Not an exciting personality

Do you think Ohio State will come for him?

Not sure……seems extremely happy In Tuscaloosa. We will pay a lot. It will just come down to if the lure of a Blue blood is too much to pass up on…. He doesn’t seem like a money hungry person. He talked about building for “years to come” after Saturday’s game.

I would imagine the first REAL job opportunity that comes after Oats would force Bama to build a new basketball arena.
