It's a reasonable starting point in evaluating the modern era. But if you don't want to limit it, then Yale is the best college football program in history.

LSU didn't make a real financial commitment to LSU prior to then.

They were basically like Alabama's baseball program currently.

Only because the children's hospital wasn't built yet.

Let me ask you Mac...if UGA mops the floor with Bama (at least once, maybe twice) this coming season and I search up and revisit this thread and I ask you, is all of this past stuff REALLY any consolation to you right now, what are you gonna say?

I'd say if we're talking about the SEC, the best way to look at it is look at what happened in the years the SEC has existed. That basically means starting with the 1933 football season (SEC was founded in December of 1932).

In that time period BAma is #1 in the SEC in winning percentage at 74.4%. UGA is second at 68.6%. Tennessee is third it 67.3%. LSU is fourth at 66.2%.

Since 1933, Bama has 12 AP poll championships. Georgia, LSU and Florida are tied for 2nd with 3. Auburn and Tennessee have 2.

Bama is #1 in SEC titles at 30. UGA is second at 14. Tennessee has 13 and LSU has 12.

While it may be "homerish", I think UGA is pretty clearly #2 in the SEC, but the distance between them and LSU/Tennessee is pretty small while the distance to Bama overall at #1 is pretty large.

As far as who's the best team in the SEC right now going into next year, UGA and Texas are probably fighting it out for #1, but Bama can make a case for themselves.

You mean to say Spurrier was better.

Like Saban wasn’t the West the last 15 years.

And Tennessee had some great teams then sprinkled in with some solid UGA teams

Dude, Oklahoma doesn’t know how to win natty’s. GTFO of here with that crap.
you mean we dont know how to cheat to win a 2019 nc with ineligble players, without stealing from a childrens hospital.... and preceding to get blown out by KSU like 100 -0? You are correct........

to make it clear OU has more NCs than LSU so i would say we do know how to win nattys without cheating.

Well, ignoring what went on in the Jurassic period of CFB and focusing on something reasonable like, say, the last 5 seasons?

UGA - 6 total losses and 2 national championships
Bama - 8 total losses and 1 national championship
LSU - 18 total losses and 1 national championship

Wtf?! Who were those losses to puppy...? this is hilarous

As you probably guessed I have a lot of time on my hands right now. And it sounds fun at first but after a while you just get bored with expensive whores.

All time, it’s OU.

Modern era, it’s Georgia, LSU, Florida in that order.
