It sounds like the 16 year old was driving and hit another vehicle or more on the getaway,

If it was a drive-by, those stray bullets prob hit more than just the two people who got shot. That could also be where the criminal damage to property charge came from.

LA criminal code
quote:

§14:55. Aggravated criminal damage to property. A. Aggravated criminal damage to property is the intentional damaging of any structure, watercraft, or movable, wherein it is foreseeable that human life might be endangered, by any means other than fire or explosion.

Leads me to believe they shot and caused damage to property

So maybe the two “adults” made the juvenile pull the trigger thinking he would get off since he was a juvenile and they would be able to get off as long as they didn’t pull the trigger?

Regardless, I am not going to consult with Trey Holly when planning a driveby or home invasion. He does not seem to be a great tactician.

The cops said three different guns were used. Assume they ran ballistics. I’d use basic logic to assume each used one gun and all three pulled the trigger. Unless there were more than 3 people involved in this ordeal, which is certainly possible, it’s really hard for me to see the innocence angle here.

Thank you. I didn’t know this. It sure sounds like a driveby.

That or they really can’t shoot for shite.

I wonder if the people that got shot were even the target/s. Maybe that his is innocence angle. He didn’t mean to shoot those particular people so they should let him go.

Doesn’t Louisiana have a statute for shooting into an occupied dwelling? They weren’t charged with that. Wonder if they did a driveby on some folks that were hanging out in the parking lot/walking down the street?

Whatever happened, I am surprised he is still listed on the LSU sports webpage.

He was suspended indefinitely within like an hour of the news breaking. Even if he’s acquitted, I’d be floored if he’s ever in an LSU uniform again.

It will all depend on whether or not there’s evidence to make the charges stick and take him to trial. If he really is innocent, the DA probably would drop the charges soon and it will be done with. If this drags on into next season, then he likely won’t be back.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't kick him off the team yet. We had a QB a couple of years ago get charged with possessing and distributing child porn, the charges were eventually dropped but the damage had already been done. No one will even touch him in the portal now.

Because he's been charged with a crime? Look, my eyes lead me to believe the kid is guilty. Casings at the scene probably match his gun. He fled back to BR knowing he was going to be asked questions. He has been indefinitely suspended from the team, but until he's either proven guilty or cops to a plea, you just can't erase him from the program completely.

I mostly agree but imagine if this was a Bama FB player arrested for attempted murder and he hadn't been kicked off the team yet. This place would be a shitshow.

Agreed, but that's why we don't let the lunatics run the asylum.

I wouldn’t kick him off yet, either. He was arrested, but that doesn’t mean he actually did it. Hopefully whatever happens, the DA and PD don’t drag their feet.

To be fair, if you go to this years football roster, there is no one listed.

LINK

So sure you can look up the 2023 roster and he is there.

The server would have combusted in flames.

It is interesting to see how many people are suggesting we not make any rash decisions and to let the legal system handle this. I agree that is the right thing to do in situations like this that will alter a person’s entire life. But it is very different than the prevailing attitude in other similar past situations.

that's hilarious. if any other coaches did what you just suggested, NOT kick him off yet and let the investigation run its course, you'd call the coach and team a bunch of thugs. Innocent until proven guilty? Or does that only
apply to LSU players

Grand Jury did not recommend 2nd degree murder charge for Holly.

Got a weapon charge that Holly plans to plead not guilty.

Kitna?

The guy that admitted sharing child porn on Telegram then took a plea deal?

Not sure that is innocent.
