How are players supposed to trust coaches?

There's not an SEC program that hasn't been guilty of having assistant coaches magically take other jobs immediately after Signing Day. The shite has happened every year for as long as I can remember. It's incredibly sleazy and Ive never understood why it hasn't been called out. Recruiting a player and wooing a player to a school and then leaving as soon as that player signs with the school is a very elaborate lie.
And now Brian Kelly and Deboer are really stepping it up. Kelly fired every assistant coach on defense one week after Signing Day. Did he wake up one day around Christmas and have an epiphone that he needed all new coaches on defense, or had he already made up his mind at some point during this season?
And not trying to troll or trash talk, but this Ryan Grubbs situation is some of the sketchiest and most manipulative shite that I can remember in recruiting.

LSU hadn’t played their bowl game yet. And we upgraded at every position coach. I think the players were happy about that.
We had two defensive linemen flip to lsu while not having a defensive line coach

Those kids on defense signed because he fired them!

You think LSU recruits were upset by the defensive staff being replaced?

Fify.
People are generally inclined to maximize their opportunities in the pursuit of self-interest. We are living in classical realism... Life at its core is still "fear, honor, interest."

With how the portal and NIL works now, I have no issues if coaches and collectives are shady in how they get players to sign and stay. I support what DeBoer did with the 30 day window thing to keep players in and get commitments. I also don’t feel sorry for the greedy fricks who sigh somewhere for money only and then get stiffed. They wanted all of this so they get what they deserve

NIL and transfer rules are a result of this not the cause. Is this your first offseason?

Also, Kelly let the staff go after the early signing period. Op might be trying to mislead readers.

Players are committing to coaches and then picking other teams at time of signing, or jumping into the portal, etc. it’s happening both ways.
It’s stupid to get hung up on this topic.

LSU played there bowl Monday. Wednesday morning he fired the defense staff, Friday he announces new defensive coordinator.
Pretty sure Kelly was keeping recruits informed of how everything was going to play out to show him how he has the staff and players aligned. Otherwise, why does 5-stat recruit flip to LSU when there was no coach?

"You know the coaches who are recruiting you and calling and texting you all the time and trying to convince you to come to LSU?"
"Yes sir."
"They're all getting fired as soon as you sign, but you're going to like it and be excited."

frick the players…they want to be paid and act like pros…that’s life as a paid athlete.

Shortly after Dan Lanning left Georgia, Kirby made it a recruiting policy to tell recruits that there are times when coaches will be offered career advancement opportunities but that his commitment to them is to provide them with NFL level skill development.
This situation with Grubb really speaks volumes about the current state of the Bama program. DeBoer just did something that is sure to create distrust with both parents and high school coaches alike.

Before the end of the season?
Before signing day?
On signing day?
The day after signing day?
3 weeks after signing day?
Stick around and recruit against your old school on behalf of the new school?
Every case has its set of unique circumstances.
Sark did Saban and Alabama a solid by honoring his commitment to them through the Championship game, in January, at the expense of recruiting at Texas.
Saban is at the top of the list of people Sark gives praise too. He honored his commitment, and then took some Alabama coaches to Texas with him.
Nothing wrong with that.
His character and integrity has paid dividends with recruits and their families and has offset that initial negative impact many times over.
Character and integrity are not favorable character traits for most college coaches.
You know, "Those that can't, teach, and those that can't teach, coach football."
