Michigan and Washington State did pretty good shutting down the offense.

Michigan and Texas did pretty good at beating Bama too, but DeBoer will beat a lot of teams with his offense.

I’ve seen Georgia Southern and Chattanooga do pretty good at shutting down our offense with the Goat on our sidelines, too.

Didn't really watch much of the Apple Cup. It's a rivalry game, so I'll forgive that like only beating 2023 Auburn with a miracle TD.
The Michigan game, I watched mostly start to finish. Their tailback was playing injured and the lack of run threat limited their offense a bit. Even so, the team adjusted on defense and gave themselves a chance to win in the 4th quarter. DeBoer/Grubb were calling good plays but Penix was not executing at his normal high level. Mostly due to a combination of their interior OL getting whipped all night (especially bad at the guard spots) and Michigan doing a good job of taking away initial reads so he was often having to throw when his internal clock was telling him it was time to let'er rip or get sacked. Several of their best opportunities to seize control of that game were missed by atypical errant throws by Penix.
Not much a staff can do about "no depth at tailback" and "interior OL is physically overmatched" but they tried their damnedest and had a shot to tie the game half way through the 4th quarter.

Some offenses torched Nick Saban’s defense occasionally, too. No coach or scheme is perfect.
