I like making Tennessee and a few select others examples. UT and Florida way over offered for mid quarterbacks. Their desperation can’t effectively become market making in the new ecosystem. Mid programs can’t crash the market with unsustainable contracts to achieve temporary success. So they have to get the lash so everybody else can offer reasonable salaries. Their hubris is the violation.

Short-sighted. This whole NIL paradigm is still brand new. The "market" will quit ponying up this kind of money with no commensurate return eventually (and probably quickly). These early contracts will be the stuff of lore once the dust settles.

We should all be rooting for Tennessee in this!! For too long, some programs have bowed to the NCAA, have openly shared infractions, cooperated, only to get hammered. Meanwhile you have minimal fallout from the Adidas hoops scandal, fake classes at UNC, and beyond. The NCAA mission is to "Provide a world-class athletics and academic experience for student-athletes that fosters lifelong well-being." They use this type of BS to justify their existence. We need to support the Vol's in this fight...if their NIL collective is truly providing $8MM+ to single athletes, good for them!!

Don't forget about Miami.
Probably not a coincidence that John Ruiz is currently facing federal (civil and criminal) investigation.

I’m sorry Bama fans are too poor to compete in the NIL era. Because your post comes off as whining more than it did in your head.
As your your hubris, Bama gets smack down historically every decade or so and is overdue.
