We obviously had the talent, but whatever we were doing schematically the last few seasons hasn’t worked. Saban told Byrne to give DeBoer full access and control like he had. Austin Mack should be an excellent QB and DeBoer spoke highly of him when he committed.

We have not been a particularly well coached team in recent years, primarily due to questionable assistant coaches and apparently a malignant player culture in many ways.

This is not coping! Washington’s starting offense consisted of 3 sophomores on the OL and their starting receivers were 3rd year guys.

By the way, those 2 WRs are projected round 1 and 2 and their QB is a top 10 pick. Y’all need to relax and trust.

Maybe you guys that are freaking out about this should just sit it out and wait. Maybe pick up a new hobby. The rest of us are just going to sit back and trust the new coaches until there is reason for them not to be trusted.

Mack is talented in his own right, Bama isn't going from fillet mignon to chopped liver

Why are you here? Can you just put the keyboard down and live your life for a bit; Take a moment away from football? You seem miserable.

These are unprecedented [and I might add exciting] times. Saban is the goat but he couldn't keep coaching forever. Unlike Spurrier, Bowden and many others, Saban was the closest I've seen to leaving at his peak. But even he hasn't had the youth and energy he did 10 years ago.

That energy is back and I'm thrilled with the possibility of what could be.
