Am I the only non-Bama fan taking Saban retiring hard?

I can’t be the only one. I guess it’s just the fact I’m getting older, and college football will never be the same again with the transfer portal and NIL stuff. Plus, beating Bama won’t be as sweet. I know the word GOAT gets thrown around a lot, but he truly was. I don’t know. I’m weirdly sad about it.

No. It just means you’re truly a fan of college football. I felt that way about Joe Paterno and Bobby Bowden. They let us out of school in Birmingham when Coach Bryant died. It always a little sad to see age take down a legend. We build men like that up and then we realize they are just human. It’s just life!

It's a recognition of your mortality . Ends of eras do that. Saban is only a year older than me and I felt a tingeof sadness withe news. But I got better real quick

Yes you are. I hope the Alabama bias will disappear into thin air now, but I have my doubts. Hopefully they come back to the pack some though due to less talent or less coaching than they are used to.

Nothing wrong with you for feeling that way. Saban the past few years has kind of reminded me of Chingachgook from the book/movie The Last of the Mohicans. When you watched Saban coach you knew that when he decided to hang up his whistle that the era of the big time legendary coaches would be over and that’s really sad.
