Also, i heard a crazy stat on an interweb podcast today. Check this out:

Lane Kiffen, in his entire college coaching career at Tenn, USC, and Ole Miss, is 1 and 19 against teams that finished the regular the season with 9 or more wins. One and Nineteen!!

That’s absolute garbage right there. And looks even worse when you look at the absolute bums who have a better record than him in that same stat department

1-19? Man, we thought Richt had a bad record against top 10 teams. Norvel didn't seem a home run replacement. I guess Bammers have accepted they are not going to find anyone that can replace Saban. I'm sure the hope is that the brand that Saban created keeps the recruiting pipeline running and heir is good enough to keep that rolling and call x and o's. It seems like Sark would be the guy but would he leave Texas for Bama?

that is crazy, but the more I think about it and ever so casually look into it, it seems a bit more sensational that is REALLY is.

-What he did at USC is kind of irrelevant to me so I throw that out. You may not, which is cool, but it jsu tisn't relevant to me.
-He was at UT for 1 season. How did Kirby (and saban for that matter) do at their first year on the job? Again, a one-year sample size is a throwaway to me. So we essentailly are just looking at his HC career at ole miss:

-2020 was a covid year so it would've been virtually impossible to beat someone that ended the regular season with 9 wins
-2021 they won 10 games including over Arky and aTm teams that were ranked in the top 15 at the time. Arkansas ended the year with 9 wins
-2022 they really didn't have any kind of signature win to speak of
-Thsi year they beat a PS team that ended with 10 wins.

The caveat of "regular season" 9 wins seems a bit odd to me to make it sound worse. How many teams are you reasonably going to play in a given year that will finish 9-3 or better? Probably not many, maybe a couple at most. And considering the inferior programs he's been at it shouldn't be surprising that he'd lose to most of em.
