Absolutely they do. They have good fans that don’t start stupid troll threads about Louisiana.

We have more land, less hurricanes, better schools, better business, better PRO teams, less alligators lol, smarter people. I mean how about I say some good things about Louisiana?
Better College teams and programs historically(obviously)
Mardi Gras can be entertaining
I hear the food is great
Southern Girls which are hot
What am I missing?

I think you’re a shite poster but I will say no Louisiana native on TigerDroppings should be poking fun at anyone else’s state other than maybe Mississippi.

Back when O was working on keeping Joe Brady there were guys I knew who said he should stay in Louisiana because if he did, he could get all the best free hunting trips he wanted.

Edit: they were not being sarcastic

You’re being too generous tbh. Mardi Gras sucks, Louisiana girls are mostly dumb whores, the food is phenomenal though. Louisiana is not a good state by any metric.

That being said, this is a sports message board and 90% of it is college football. So, Missouri has pretty much nothing going for it here. No one in Columbia even watched Missouri football until the pandemic when they realized they had a football team simply because nothing else was going on.

Is this Auburn geography, or state of Alabama education geography?
Missouri borders 8 states, but Colorado i'nt one of em.

So I guess we don't even have that going for us.

I’m 37 and started following around 2001 or so. Missouri has had a history of getting screwed over big time. The most famous was the Colorado 5 downs. They gave them freaking 5 downs at the goal line to score. Supposedly if we won that we would of been National Champs. There are many other examples, the Nebraska kick ball etc…
We have been through hell and have been beat up by Tex, Nubs, and Oklahoma over and over.
Nebraska beat us 26 or 27 years straight and then in 2003 a man named Brad Smith changed everything. Youtube Nebraska Missouri 2003. After we beat Nebraska for the first time in 26 years I was went outside and screamed at the top of my lungs. I was a fan for life. People that are older understand better why Missouri struggled for so long. There was some crazy lady who messed sruff up in the 80s I think. There wasn’t much support for the program. It’s like they abandoned the football program from 1978-2003. That’s 25 years but things have been improving gradually since 2003. There is a 10 year connection there, 03’ first victory over Nubs in 26 years, 13’ went to the SEC championship game 23’ finished in the top 10 and beat Ohio St.
I hope we continue to improve and with the new NIL rules it will allow Missouri to finally compete with Oklahoma and Texas at an almost even playing field. Of course they have much better recruiting power because of their prestige. But right now Ole Miss and Missouri have very bright futures.

As someone who travels throughout Missouri often for work, the state (on a whole) doesn't give a shite about college football.

Most of the CFB fans I've met are transplants and/or fans of another school.

If you see someone wearing SEC gear, it's just as likely to be another SEC school as it is to be Mizzou, unless you're in Columbia itself.

No slight to the state, they just follow pro sports much more fervently.

I'd rank them as:

1. Cardinals
2. Chiefs
3. Royals
4. Blues
5. Mizzou basketball
6. Mizzou football

All Mizzou would have had was a victory over a then-#1 team who ended up national champs. That, and Bob Stull might have gotten enough traction to turn things around.
However, the shenanigans at the end of that game included that the game clock had some time added to it (for no apparent reason except to give Colorado more time) and the fact that even on the only 5th down in the history of college football, the ballcarrier didn't cross the plane and score. He was clearly a foot short.

I agree with the pro thing, but I don’t think there are more basketball fans than football. I could be wrong but pretty sure football is way more popular. I wouldn’t know because I don’t know anything about our basketball team anymore. I couldn’t name a player or the coach :)

Must suck for Alabama to be ranked way lower overall then.
