I am consistently astonished by programs who fire their coach and then have a seemingly chaotic and embarrassing search (think Cutcliffe ~ Orgeron). We can't afford that right now.

We hired O because Cut left the roster depleted outside of P-Willis and we needed someone to come in and rebuild. That's why we paid him $900k a year....which was WELL below the typical salary back then.
They had no real intention of supporting him to be a winner. Kinda fricked up but it did give us enough talent to overcome Nutt's dogshit coaching and give us two cotton bowls.
