They break the play down, say exactly what many have said already but it's good to hear it from folks who clearly know football and love Alabama.

He's not wrong I guess, but the Michigan defender had shed 77's block and was filling. The pass out to the RB had a much higher chance of success.

Literally one of the dumbest breakdowns from a guy who obviously doesn't like the QB and nees to blame him for it.

Using stillshots is moronic when the play was ran at live speed, the snap was bad and his eyes weren't up.

Besides that fact he can adjust sideways while he is trying to step forward (from the bad snap)

The guy literally shows a film if terrible blocking, terrible snap and a bad play and ignores all of that to fixate on the QB running behind all of that

The lane was open to the left. The blocking worked. The play, as designed, would have resulted in a touchdown. Most people saw that in real time.

His takes got old because it felt like Hurts(which I agreed with back then) all over again but ultimately he could be right.

Only time will tell. We'll see how he progresses next year.

Milroe did not play well but he was not the only one. Hard to play your best when the O line is struggling to protect...but Milroe can be blamed as well. He's not good at recognizing these things pre snap but he can improve.

Ultimately it's hard for me or anyone to make overall observations when there is so much we don't know behind the scenes.

All I know is we all said Hurts couldn't improve and he did. LSU fans hated Jayden Daniels and said he couldn't pass the ball and then look what happened. Let's see what happens. If Milroe and the offense looks the same next year then I'll be on board with going in another direction.

The biggest problem with fans is you have ppl that overly criticize and then you have ppl that overly support(we know who I'm talking about here). Basically you have ppl that act like Milroe can do no wrong and it's everyone else's fault all the time.

looks like there are two unblocked defenders to me. and 77 pretty much overran the guy he was supposed to be block. He didn't even really block him.

- The blocking did not work (at least 3 OL were beat thst play)

- The play was admitted a bust from the head coach who wished they could have called another timeout or had another play to switch to

- There were 2 defenders unblocked in that stillshot he used and another came free inside from the TE missing his block

That play was a terrible bust and not because our QB couldn't teleport sideways to magically avoid very fast penetrating defenders

I haven't seen a lot of this on this board regarding Milroe.

The guard is pulling to block the Michigan defender near the goal line. This is very clear in the live footage.

There is none.

Even when we have defended him we have mentioned he has limitations.

It is just tiresome hearing people need to blame him for the crap he doesn't do. We get what he is and his limitations, no need to pile on others just because you don't like him

He misses that block. Then that defender and the defender the TE was supposed to block broke through

There were threads here proclaiming Milroe a Heisman candidate, better than McCarron, better than McCarthy, etc. After the Texas game there were plenty of Milroe fans telling us that he would be a phenom by season's end, insulting our football IQ for questioning him, and they even bookmarked those threads and bumped them when Milroe briefly looked better due to running more often against the dreadful LSU and Kentucky defenses. Even after this game there have been posts about Milroe's "beautiful" passes on slant routes. It's disingenuous to pretend that all of Milroe's supporters have always (or in fact ever) acknowledged his faults.

It's also disingenuous to act like the people criticizing him do so just because they personally and irrationally dislike him. It's a total inversion of reality. Milroe's critics base their takes on his play on the field while his defenders excuse away everything because they've decided they personally like him.

There's a camp of people who actually do defend Milroe just on the grounds that he was the best option this year but not actually a good quarterback. That's a reasonable take. But it's inaccurate to suggest that there haven't been absolutely delusional takes about Milroe's greatness on this board.

He doesn't miss the block, there's just no one there for him to block because the defender reacts to Milroe's decision to run forward by attacking the space near the Tight End. If Milroe runs behind the guard, that block is there. I don't actually blame Milroe for this though because he likely doesn't panic on the play without a good snap. The timing was completely destroyed by the snap.

didn't he finish like 5 or 6 in Heisman rankings? I would say that the national media pushed that more than Bama fans did.

better than McCarthy,

That's not exactly a hot take.

You are referring to one exchange where someone asked why we don't call slants, and someone said that Milroe is capable of throwing them because he has thrown some good slants, which is true.

They wanna say milroe sucks and blame him for not winning the natty, but the same people think McElroy, and Coker are legends because of them being on championship team. Milroe was more impactful for this team than Coker or McElroy were in their respective teams. Both of those guys had great defenses and much better offensive coordinators. They were also much older in their career being both of them were seniors. Ystar has not made a false statement they just hate he won’t take their bait.

Can't believe we are still discussing this. Didn't Saban make it clear as to what happened several times? The play would have succeeded if not for the LOW SNAP!!
It was supposed to be a run behind the pulling guard or a pass to the RB.
