You can tell from my number of posts that I really just come here to gather info and opinions and rarely share.

That said, I'm sorry if this has been discussed and I missed it.

Am I crazy to think that if a player receives NIL money that he should do so only if he agrees to participate in all games throughout the year, including a bowl game (barring injury)?

Has this been discussed much? Again, sorry if this is an old topic that has been talked about to death.

NLI probably makes it more likely they'll opt out. Imagine you have a business relationship with someone before they become a pro. Being a higher drafted pro makes them more marketable for you.

I'm not a fan of these guys opting out. I believe if they do opt out, they should not be allowed to go to the bowl or stand on the sideline.

I agree.

And, again, if they are receiving NIL money, there should be a stipulation that they will receive less if they opt out of any game.

It’s called quitting the team. We need to start using the proper terms to describe the quitters.

I agree 10000%

You want to get paid? Great but you can't have your cake and eat it. There needs to be some sort of financial penalty added in NIL for opting our or injury fakes to avoid playing games.

Pretty sure eventually this leads to players being employees and that will solve the problem.

I really don't have a lot of issues with guys opting out of these bowl games.

But admittedly so if we knew what they were getting paid to play then it might change my opinion

Only if that’s a stipulation in a player’s NIL signed deal. The only way to really ensure they don’t opt out is to make them employees of the school and share revenue with them, which is coming at some point sooner rather than later.

Yeah, I think if they're going to get paid like it's a job, they should have the responsibilities that come with a job.
