One thing I’ve noticed while reading Michigan boards is that they believe their QB should be a first round pick. I admittedly haven’t watched much of Michigan outside of highlights but is this accurate? I thought they’re passing was their weak points?

No.

In the three games he’s played against functional teams (PSU, OSU and Iowa) he has yet to generate 200 yards and only has 19 TDs on the season.

He’s an efficient game manager who has played well in the role he’s been given, but at no point in time has he demonstrated that he’s a difference maker.

He was getting some first round hype coming into the season. I think that’s died off outside of their fan base

If you think about it Michigan has not had good QB play since like Dennard Robinson in 2011. If any QB at Bama, LSU, Clemson, OSU, and UGA had a QB playing like he has (1 TD in 5 games) they’d trash his arse constantly. That’s not to say he’s a horrible QB. I think he’s better than his numbers indicate but their QB play has been so average or mediocre the last 10+ years it feels like they’re latching onto any good plays they see from their QB. No matter how few their plays are
