Because it's about spots and the public expectation is that if a P5 team went undefeated and there was a spot available they earned it. History supports this. The 4th available spot was between two 1 loss teams and Texas held the tie breaker beating Bama. That's why Texas doesn't get the heat.

Well the public is stupid then because Bama didn’t take FSUs spot, they took Georgia’s. If Bama loses, it’s Georgia, Michigan, Washington, and Texas. FSU is still out

It would have been four undefeated teams:

You really believe Texas was getting left out after easily winning the Big 12 Championship and FSU struggling to get first downs over a team that got destroyed by Kentucky? Texas is #3 and the committee clearly thinks they’re better than FSU without Travis

This irritates the shite outta me. You talking about the game which was 19-18 with 3:30 left in the damn game? This arse whooping?

If UGA beats Bama, then Texas and Bama are out.

The committee could not put Bama in over Texas.
The committee wanted Bama in.
Do the math.

This was a big indictment on the ACC moreso than FSU. The committee thinks very little of the conference and I agree

The committee could knock FSU for playing in the ACC... if FSU scheduled a crap OOC as well.
FSU stepped up big and scheduled LSU and Florida.

You can't knock a team for strength of schedule when they do everything in their power to boost the strength of schedule.

If anything, knock Bama for the shitty OOC and losing badly to the only good OOC opponent that they did schedule.

I know going undefeated is very impressive but out of the 5 conference Champs they felt the ACC was the weakest

It's really not comparable at all. Alabama was the #1 seed that year and the final game was 13-9 going into the 4th.

It always amazes me when a Georgia fan brings up that we were beating Alabama in two games with a total of 2 minutes left in the games combined we were told that a game lasts 60 minutes and every minute counts." Now they don't? This "The game was close going to the 4th quarter" stuff is laughable.

That said, I think Alabama is one of the 4 best teams in college football. Just wondering about the coping of the 2021 game.

Why are week acting like a 10 point win is huge? Bama had the lead at the beginning of the 4th quarter

I agree, it plays the narrative... but to be candid, I know of only three Bama games lost in the last decade which were double digits.

That is just, unbelievably amazing and a standard no other has matched [that I remember].

Bruh…the fact that Bama even played Texas is WAY more than most team’s OOC schedule. Don’t pretend that’s not true. Also, Bama had the lead well into the 4th quarter of the Texas game as well…losing badly my arse. If Bama had truly played a shite OOC schedule everything else is moot anyway as they would be undefeated presently.

As an aside, it isn’t lost on me when some of you haters saunter up into threads and start talking about Bama being out matched or dominated in some of these games. Just like the 2022 Natty against UGA I pointed out was a 1-point game with 3 minutes left despite the well documented injuries Bama had…someone comes and speaks to it as an arse whipping. No, sorry. That tells me someone didn’t watch the game and doesn’t know what the Hell they are talking about right off the top. Same to the Texas game this year. Texas got a garbage time score near the end but it wasn’t anything close to as arse whooping, that game could have easily gone another direction. The only time under Saban that Bama has truly gotten a beat down was against Clemson in the Natty a few years back. I know this, as a staunch Bama fan I have literally watched every game and made mental notes.

As a final reminder to relate to my point…Bama’s DB was literally a fraction of a foot on the line on the return in the end of the Auburn game that would have made it a two-score double digit win in the books. Anyone with any football acumen who watched the game knows that score would have been grossly misleading. And no you won’t see me nor most any other legit Bama fans, had they scored on that play, coming up and talking about that 10 point arse whooping we put on Auburn. But you haters do you regardless of how misinformed your post is or intentionally misleading it is about how Bama was outmatched agains Texas or UGA a couple of years ago.
