Depends on who the replacement is.

I can’t imagine Saban bowing out without there being a replacement ready to be installed smoothly. He’s not going to standby and watch the empire crumble.

What are the chances he becomes the next AD for Bama? Or do you think he’d just fully retire?

a few years ago i would have dismissed this idea, figuring Saban would happily bow out and let the PTB fight it out who they would hire

but i've come around to this way of thinking - he's justifiably proud of what he's built and what happens after he leaves is important to him

another reason Saban >>>>>>> Bryant

This.

The man who leaves nothing to chance will not depart without working with the AD and powers that be to ensure things are set for a positive transition with minimal disruption.

He’s headed to Florida when he retires and y’all will be in his rear view mirror. He will not care one bit what happens next.

Agree. I mean he could surprise everyone, but I don't think he steps off the throne without a successor already at least in mind. I don't know who that would be at this time, and likely why he won't be hanging it up for a few more years at least.
