Seriously? Because next time it could be us. This sets the precedent that a 2019 LSU could be left out if Joe Burrow had torn his ACL in the 4th quarter or the SECCG. Or in a 12-team playoff, if not left out altogether, not given 1 of the 4 byes and made to play a 1st round game on the road. It completely spits in the face of fairness and the entire reason why we even play the games.

They should be left out in this scenario.

"BSC computers aren't fair, let's move to a committee..."
"Committee isn't fair."

Really, it's not 'fair' because your opinion doesn't match the committee's opinion.
