And apparently having 24 points in a game is better than your opponent having 34 points in the same game?

If Alabama ends up beating Georgia and Texas wins against Okie State, a case could be made for either team. And I will concede your point that Texas won the head to head back in the second week of September.
But would you be so confident that Texas would win in a rematch? Everyone forgets, Texas had a four yard scoring drive in the 4th to salt the game away. This was following an awful interception that Milroe gifted right to the Texas DB. That game could have gone either way up until that point.

Yes. You guys suck. Needed two miracles to beat Auburn, who got run out of their own stadium by New Mexico something or other.

This doesn't matter. It's the same argument Bama fans tried to make last year with TCU.

Results on the field matter, and Texas beat Bama head to head, and in this scenario both would have the same record and be conference champions. That head to head will count more than everything with the committee, because the reality is they are beholden to the perception of making decisions based on what teams did on the field.

And how can they defend saying Bama is better than Texas (in their selecting the best teams mantra), when Texas beat them ON THE ROAD on the field?

They can't. That's why in that scenario Texas is in.

That's a weird way of saying "the Texas defense outplayed the Alabama offense to create opportunity in a football game"

And it went Texas' way because they played better and showed they were the better team. That's how football works?

Texas outgained Bama by 75 yards. Thats normally the indicator on who played better. They had less punts as well. They had more first downs. They controlled Time of Possession. They ran 75 plays compared to 62. In no metric did Alabama win that game including the score board. It was a thorough win that was dominated by Texas especially in the 4th quarter. And after watching Bama struggle mightly with Auburn - No way in hell im picking them head to head over Texas in a rematch. Sorry
