Lots of smoke already that Elko is expected to name Robinson DC. Honestly, it would be a shock for anyone else to get the DC gig.

A smart and expected move. Elko is going to run the defense anyhow, so he might as well curry favor with the current players and recruits by keeping Robinson onboard.

My honest opinion is that Robinson stayed at A&M to continue working with/learning from Terry Price. He also got the AHC and Co-DC titles from Jimbo to stay. I don't have any sources on that, and could be totally off base, but knowing what I know about both TP and ER, that was my impression of the situation.

He’s also been one of the highest paid position coaches in the country. He makes more than most coordinators (as he should). He will obviously get another sizable pay bump to be DC
