We give the entire world of college football several lessons for free (not free for us. Suicide-incliningly expensive for us):
1. Do not give people 10-year contracts worth almost $100 million.
2. A bunch of elite athletes does not make a team.
3. Winning a game by 41 points without allowing a touchdown against an SEC team while playing your third- and fourth-string quarterbacks cannot save you from getting fired.

There may have been a reason this wasn't done before. I'm not sure teaching a lesson that is obvious to all is teaching a lesson.
