He is one of if not the best quarterbacks in the country. But I do not think he should win the Heisman. Stats are very important. But wins and losses are also, especially for a quarterback. A quarterback has more input on wins and losses than any other position on the field. He is the defacto leader of the team. A Heisman quarterback needs to elevate the whole team to another level. Think Cam Newton or Jameis Winston turning 8-4 teams into national champs. Daniels is great. But he has not done that. And right or wrong, I think most Heisman voters look at it very similarly.
Daniels can't play defense. You couldn't ask more from him in terms of what he's done this year. Caleb Williams won it last year on a 3 loss team.

He also can't catch his own passes. The WRs were pitiful in the FSU game.

Yes Daniels should win and there is nothing he can do about defense.
People should stop using Caleb Williams as an excuse. His team lost the 3rd game after he won the Heisman. He led his team to a PAC-12 championship rematch against the only team that had beat them. If they had won that game, USC would have been in CFP. That game did not matter as he had already won the Heisman as many voters turned in their votes already.
If using a benchmark, use Lamar Jackson who never won any big games ( losing to Deshaun Watson and Clemson) and Tim Tebow who lost 3 games the year he won.
