They have the second longest streak ever at #1 in the AP going right now. I’m not sure they are.
It’s really a matter that a Southern team has won every NC but one the last 20 years. It’s the same reality MLB had in the early 2000’s when 75% of their audience was in the Northeast. People don’t care if their team isn’t competitive. It’s also why the NFL’s hard salary cap and rigging the league for 32 8-8 teams has kept the country interested.

This is right on the money. Nobody cares because everyone around us has already done it. Bama, Auburn, UF, LSU, heck even Clemson.
It's like being the 5th doctor in the family, nobody cares anymore. A three peat would put us above and beyond, but we're a long way from pulling it off.
